As temperatures rise I will revisit a piece I made following an artist residency in Paonia Colorado. I am starting to blog my artwork again after two years away due to hacker interference.
Gunnison Desert is a ceramic print. From a series of about 20 single exposure photographs I take while spinning my body on an axis, I merge the shots into a continuous panorama using a filter from Adobe Photoshop. Another filter takes the strip and joins the ends together to create a circular 360 degree panorama. This piece then is a radial perspective of where I stood. I have eliminated my standing area and some of the sky.
I complete the work using screen print, hand coloring, ceramic materials and firing. More later in future posts.
